They seem to move a lot - are you SURE all 17 are the same family????!!

They are definately from the same parents, my Dad and his cousins can remember every single one of them - and we have family photos of all of the Wanklyn children with the exception of George  ;)  I have a week off work soon, so it looks like I may be busy again !!!
Cheers

Sue, I wonder if this was in fact a stillbirth ?
It would seem the same to the family if it was full term stillborn, but there was no registration of still births until 1927.
Could be a possible answer.

In my own family there were 8 children born to my grandmother, but family tradition has it there were 10, and no sign whatever of these other 2, so I had assumed these were very late [i.e for the othe children to be aware] miscarriages or in fact unregistered stillbirths.

Thanks very much - I was wondering that myself.  It is a shame that none of Nan's generation are still around to ask any questions - but they probably wouldn't talk about it anyway.

Thanks for your help I will keep on searching.

Hi Sue,

Don't know how far back you have got but seeing the name WANKLYN twice in one day is unusual.  Just added to my database of MIL(L)WARDs:
Marriage in Ribbesford, WOR, 20 Dec 1793, John MILLWARD to Sarah WANKLIN

Good luck

Sarah millward née wanklyn was my great grandmother. Her daughter olive married Leslie davis and gave birth to my mother in 1933.
I am trying to find out how Sarah 's  sister in law Edna Oseman(married to brother percy) is a dead ringer for me.
Still working on it.

Hello dcallender,

Welcome to RootsChat :)

I am very sorry but we lost touch with snooziecat some time ago, it looks like she changed her email but did not let us know what the new address is :'( When we loose contact we leave a little note underneath the profile name so that people know.

Wishing you the best of luck in your research.
