Margaret

Do you have James and Ellen's marriage cert? It is going to be difficult tracking down his parents without a clue as to who his dad was.
Also a marr cert often gives you the name of another family member (or two) in the form of the witnesses.

I've looked for the family in 1861 but like you I can't find them either.

According to the 1851 James is born in Marylebone c 1827(for anyone out there also searching 1861 for him)

Regards

Carol

Fraid i don't have wedding cert .....as yet :)

i know ellen is definitely in my family tree, and her mother's maiden name was Brook, (as was mine :D :D )

but i am guessing that he is also prob linked to the family tree somehow, but haven't found the link yet and was wondering if anyone else had him in their tree, i have lots of info on Ellen's family
