Warminster Baptism Records
« on: Tuesday 07 March 06 14:56 GMT (UK) »
Can anyone look up the records for baptism for Christ Church Warminster.  I am seeking James Randale/Randall or perhaps James Hinton from 1867 - 1871 and also a William Hinton born about 1870. On the census birth place given as  Newtown, Warminster.   Mothers name Jane Randall and Father James Hinton.

Many thanks

Hi Brian

Yes I have recently got the the marriage cert for James Hinton and Jane Randall married 1871.

I also know now that at the 1871 census Jane was in Sambourne Workhouse with James whose age was given as 2 and also William who was 1 month.

I will now be able to get James birth certificate (I had looked for a James born 1869 but there were many Hinton's and Randall's.  Any clues for William.

Many thanks for all your help.

Hi,
I'd go for this one Free BMD.

Births Jun qtr 1871
William John Randall:     Warminster    (5a 146)

In the 1871 Census, William was age 1 month.
The Census was taken on the 2nd of April.
You have six weeks to register a birth.
Due to the nature of the birth, Jane might have left it to the last moment to register, so it would have "rolled" over to the June qtr 1871

Just a thought.
