Sorry Beth, the informant CA Hurley was on the original death registration from 1901, so I am going to assume he has passed on.

Do you know who John Hurley's siblings are?

Are you looking for Emily's parents as well?

Have you checked the US census for your Ker's?  Perhaps the 1860 US census might have a clue?

Found a Charlotte Fitchell born 1808 in Edwardsburg.  She died in 1890 in Grenville.  John Fitchell was the informant of her death.  Maybe a mother to your Emily?

Following JJ's find...

"About 1846 Miss Hannah Ker was teacher.  She was daughter of J. Irwin Ker, already referred to, and is a relict of the late Robert H. Rose.  Miss Ker also taughter some time in No. 8, Winchester....."

Yes Howard Hurley was one of William s/o John J. and Emily children He was the brother of my Grandfather William Charles. He was the 2nd generation to look after the Maple View Cemetery where John J and Emily were buried. 2 more generation still look after it. Howard and his wife May visited my parents many times and we visited them in Echo Bay. Great guy and full of good stories to tell all.
