Can you confirm his unit (this would be egraved along with his name) on the reverse.  If its Oxford Yeomanry, the Regimental Museum will take it into their collection.

Yours aye

It just states :  3/RIF:BRIG.

According to the national archives site his name was Sidney Walker, Corporal and Acting Serjeant in the Rifle Brigade.

I think that probably the Rifle Brigade museum would like it,failing that, I'd happily give it a good home!  :)

Hi Marjorie !

Andy Pay is the "Oracle" on the Rifle Brigade - maybe you could send him a PM and ask what he knows about your Corporal .... :)

Hi Marjorie,
The only S. Walker I can find in the 1914 Star roll for the 3rd Battalion (WO329/2482) is Corporal S. Walker, Number 2700. He entered France on the 22/9/14.
