Yes, there is an 1861 census for Canada.  Although I don't have access to as the Library is one hour drive one way for me.   I checked the directories for Toronto and no Attwood family is listed in Toronto, throughout 1860-1867.

P.S.
Only find a Joseph Attwood in 1871/1872 Toronto, occupation moulder, living at 318 Sumach Street.

Thank- you for taking the time to look. Joseph is a family name but cannot see where this one would fit in at the moment.

For the future, keep your eyes on this website, as they are transcribing the births in Ontario, and it is still on going project.  Currently don't see Thomas or George listed yet, but check back again every few months.

Wonder how long they will take to get to the northern counties - like Cochrane, Timiskaming & Algoma?? Francophone area -  My husband has family from up there.

For births which occurred after 1908, you will need to contact the Office of the Registrar General for the province of Ontario
