hynes, headford, galway

Hi I am new to this. I am trying to find more information on the family of my great grandfather, Peter Hynes, Connaught Rangers who died 4th May 1916 aged 33 at Ypres (WW1), buried in Loos, Northern France.  He was born in Headford, Galway but moved to Dublin.  His parents were James and Honra Hynes of Headford, Co.Galway.  Many thanks.

Redsleuth:
in case you don't have it, here is an excellent site with many links for Galway research.  http://www.labyrinth.net.au/~quibellg/galway.htm

I guess you already have seen the certificate from the CWGC  which shows his wife as Alice in Dublin.  http://www.cwgc.org/search/certificate.aspx?casualty=527491

Good luck,

Thanks Pat for the tip.  I haven't heard of that website so will try.  Alice his wife was my great grandmother and I have lots of information on her side but just don't know a lot of his background.  Thanks again for your help.  Brenda
