1851 census lookup please - Young
« on: Sunday 12 March 06 23:49 GMT (UK) »
Thomas Young born about 1824, his wife Mary born about 1818, daughter Ann born 1847 and daughter Elespeth born 1849.  Any sign of this family in the 1851 census?  Sorry, but vague about location.  Could be Berwick, Spittal, Yetholm.

Thanks Annette, I already had them in 1861 census a while ago but your information made me look again at it because I had mistakenly previously assumed all of their children after Elespeth to have been born at Wallsend.  As you point out, the 1861 census clearly places the family still at Spittal up to at least 1857, a fact that I had forgotten to correct in my Tree information.  So the 1851 location definitely looks like Spittal.

thanks again
