Translation please

Have found the undermentioned words twice in handwritten draft family tree(yes THAT tree again),
I have found in my Welsh dictionary the general meaning of the first word, but can't find the second -

HEN LANC.

Each time the above words were written before a place name.

Don't speak Welsh myself, but I asked our Welsh Language Unit (Nothing if not resourceful! )

Apparently its strict meaning is bachelor, but with connotations (in North Wales at least) of being 'a bit of a lad'.  

Although I am sure that only the strict meaning is meant in this case!!

Nothing wrong with being 'a bit of a lad'.................. ...
There are lots of other things to be which are worse!!!!

Llanc is a young man or lad, whereas hen lanc is a bachelor.
