Too Quick For Me!
« on: Tuesday 14 March 06 17:05 GMT (UK) »
How I wish I'd known about Rootschat when I first started looking into my family history!

You're all just falling over yourselves to be helpful.

I actually feel confident enough now to offer my meagre pearls of wisdom to those asking for help. I've tried several times recently to respond to cries for help and, on each occasion, by the time I've looked things up and typed my missive, at least 5 people have already beaten me to it!

 :'( >:( ;)

Don't get me wrong, I think it's great!  ;D ;D

Jill

You are not alone on that one, I don't know how many times I've gone off and found the information, come back and someone has posted the answer in my absence.  I just take it as practice and honing my skills!

See Liverpool Annie beat me to it this time as well!!!!

Do keep posting though - you get quicker each time (and it helps your own research skills too looking for information)

I usually confine myself to two or three boards branching out occasionally, so I'm pretty quick on the Limerick and Photograph boards but rather slow on the rest.

Hi all,

I can sympathise with all the sentiments expressed.....having received so much help from fellow Rootschatters I would love to help others, but by the time I get back to post there are usually posts already done.

Because of my medication (no jokes ;)) i am now waking very early in the morning. I usually log on about 6.15 am......this morning I saw a post that I could check on quickly.....but no, beaten to it again.....never mind, as has been said already, it hones our research skills and helps others put some leaves (and branches) on their trees.
