boaz Roberts
« on: Tuesday 14 March 06 22:35 GMT (UK) »
I am having problems finding a brother to my ggreat grandmother. Boaz roberts was born in 1866 in Llanfair, Denbighshire. He is documented on the 1871 and 1881 censuses but not on any other censuses, he seems to have disappeared! Looking through the BMD indexes show no record of marriage or death either. I Would be grateful if anyone can give me any tips on how I might be able to trace him, I am new to this game
Many thanks
Nerys

Hi Nerys,
Have you checked the ships lists as he might have gone to America  or Canada, or else he could have gone to sea?
Just a couple of possibilities.

Hi titch,
Have tried looking for ships, etc but haven't had much luck, it's a new ball game for me so will probably take a while. Hopefully I'll be coming home and manage a look in the archives soon
Thanks for your help

BMD indexes show -
Boaz Roberts married Dec Quarter 1873 Tewkesbury district and
also Boaz Williams Roberts married Dec Quarter 1908 Newport (M) district
could it be one of these?

Hi Gareth,
Many thanks for looking up my elusive relative!! My Boaz was born in 1866 though and did not have a middle name.
I noted that you have Bonner's in your family. My ggrandfather worked for a Bonner family in North Wales I think it's on the 1871 census for Wales.
Thanks once again
Kind Regards
Nerys

Thanks to you who replied to this message, I have recently been informed by reliable source that Boas and 2 of his siblings emigrated to Patagonia, and that he worked on the railway line there. I have to continue my searches there now. His sister returned to north Wales in 1902, so I won't see her on a census until the 1911 census comes available >:(
Kind regards
