Must be nearly 40 but I have been lucky enough to do "swaps " with other distant relatives.

I get them as birthday and Xmas presents - I never have to say I don't know what I want - I am currently constructing my list for the next birthday.  The relies are from all over the country so I can't get to the records offices and it would cost me a fortune in time and money even if I could.  I try to only get the essential ones but even those add up - does this make me sad or mean? Or possibly both.

The annoying thing about certificates is that, invariably, we do not want them - just the information they contain.

Hi All,

Btw, - what do people do with Certs that turn out to be the wrong ones?

I ask because I ordered several "William Wilson" ones when I was trying to find a Birth Cert for my Grandfather, William James Wilson, (1860-1937). None of them had the correct info re: father's occupation & name, & so I filed them away, but it occurs to me that someone on here might be looking for one of my "wrong 'uns". ;D

I will willingly pass them on if anyone on here thinks they might be the "right" one for them.

Best Wishes, Romilly.
