OK. This thread has now been running for 24 hours and we've had 33 votes (not bad for my first poll
) so I'm going to attempt the first calculation of how much we've spent on certificates:
1 Rootschatter has bought 0 certificates
2 Rootschatters have bought 1-5 so I'll assume an average of 3 (6 in total)
4 Rootschatters have bought 6-10 so I'll assume an average of 8 (32 in total)
7 Rootschatters have bought 10-20 so I'll assume an average of 15 (105 in total)
17 Rootschatters have bought 20-50 so I'll assume an average of 35 (595 in total)
2 Rootschatters have bought more than 50 so I'll assume an average of 70 (140 in total)
So I estimate that the 33 Rootschatters who voted have bought a total of 878 certificates between them or an average of 27 each.
At the last count Rootschat had 15,860 members in total so assuming that the 33 voters are a representative sample (0.2% of all Rootschatters - I'm going to be in trouble with the statisticians again
), we've spent a total of:
15,860 x 27 certificates x ₤7 = ₤2,997,540 (almost 3 million quid
) on certificates.
I'll update the calculation in a few days when hopefully they'll be more votes.
