Looking for George and Elizabeth Wrightson on 1861 census.  Would both be aged about 26 - he was a Corn Miller. Son - John Martin (3), daughter Mary Ellen (1).  Could be living in Elvington area.

With many thanks.

On the IGI, there's a marriage of George Wrightson to Elizabeth Atkin on  24 SEP 1857 at Saint Laurence, York, Yorkshire,  This ties up with marriage index in Jul-Sep 1857 York district vol 9d page 45

This in turn finds us Elizabeth Atkin born 1832 Elvington on 1851 census
HO107/2356 folio 104 page 6
Let me know if you want her family/household details

cheers John

Hi John

Thank you for census and additional information.  I am presently awaiting a birth certificate of Annie Wrightson, (daughter of George & Elizabeth), my hubby's great grandmother, for confirmation of Elizabeth's maiden name.  I'm almost sure it will be Atkin as another daughter was called Lavinia Atkin Wrightson! I had seen the marriage on the IGI but with it taking place in York thought it couldn't be mine.  However, if you don't mind letting me have household details of Elizabeth's family that would be very much appreciated.  Looks like I will be able to add another 'branch' to the tree which I will hopefully be able to fill out in time.

With very many thanks.

Janet

Hi John

Thank you for coming back to me.  I very much appreciate the information you have provided - thank you very much indeed.

I will put a request on the board for 1861 census for Atkin family - just in case they are living in York which would explain why Elizabeth got married there and not Elvington.

With very many thanks for all your help.

Best wishes.

Janet
