a little local knowledge please

Can anyone help on a little local knowledge please. Would someone born in Bedwas say they were born Tredegar?
I have two possible births one in Bedwelty and the other Bedwas not sure if both come under Tredegar.

Bedwas was in the south of the county and Tredegar in the north,so it would be unlikely that a Bedwas person would claim to be born in Tredegar.

You're on a safe bet with Bedwellty and Tredegar. Many of my family were born in New tredegar and their births and deaths are registered in Bedwellty.
