higgie marriage in downpatrick

I need some help in trying to find where a marriage took place in downpatrick.  John Higgie married Ann Orr 27 October 1871 in Downpatrick, Down.  I really need help tracing them on the 1871 census or any record.  I want to  try and trace John Higgies dad who was Robert Higgie/Heggie and was married to Margaret.  Does anybody know where I can get records(census or marriage or birth details)?

Hi,

The 1871 census in Ireland was completely destroyed at the start of the 20th century. YOu need to go to the marriage indexes which are available in the Dublin GRO, PRONI in Belfast or on film at your local family history centre.

Hi Marie. I live in Belfast you can have a search only done for £5 or get the Certificate for £10 at the GRO in Belfast or go to GRONI on-line.
