1841 census pls - William Fox, Yaddlethorpe
« on: Saturday 18 March 06 19:59 GMT (UK) »
Could someone please lookup a William Fox, b.1828-30 Yaddlethorpe, Lincs

(He may have a sister Jane Pleasant Fox, as one of William's daughters is staying with her on one of the later censuses)

Any details of his birth and parents would also be appreciated.

Thanks for any help
Catherine  :)

Hi Catherine

Yadd is a sub-district of Bottesford on the 1841 census (of Ashby, Bottesford, Burringham, East Butterwick (part), Holme, Yadd)

I've looked through all of these places and found 2 FOX families - one had no William or Jane - t'other one was

628-13/3
East Butterwick
George FOX 40 AgLab
Sarah 35
Mary 20
Sarah 15
Martha 13
George 11
William 9
John 4
Jane 4
All born Lincs

You'll find all of these (but Sarah) on the IGI, mostly at Bottesford ... it appears that John should be age 6.

Apparently, Yadd had no church of its own

Thanks Geoff, will try and confirm if this is the right one by getting my Williams marriage certificate for more clues.

Thanks again
Best Wishes
