Staffordshire parish records??
« on: Sunday 19 March 06 15:32 GMT (UK) »

Is anyone able to help me with a look-up for the Audley Parish Records please??

I would like to find the birth of Joseph Pointon, born in Audley around 1821 - could just as easily be 1820 or 1822.

The father may be recorded as James Leigh, but not sure about this.

Any help would be very gratefully received.  Many thanks

Jay jay    ;)

Dave - that's brilliant!!!

I'm afraid I still have found nothing, but would be really grateful if you could let me have what you have found.

Many many thanks for that.

Hi Jackie - thank you sooooo much - it certainly is my Joseph!

Does the record show only the mother?  My information so far tells me that the "reputed father" was a James Leigh. Would the records you found tell whether Joseph was illegitemate?

Jay-Jay.

That is all the info given on I.G.I.
Have a look www.familysearch.org.

Try asking for a look-up for that church, perhaps someone
may have access to those parish registers.

                Good luck
                  Jackie.
