My Grandad's sister married a William Smith, of Kings Norton, I recently received a PDF with hundreds of Smiths related to my tree.

Oh joy oh bliss
I'm related to the Smiths
So my researching should never get stuck
But having seen the Smiths out there
I'm thinking "Just my luck!"

Oh ...I feel deprived now ....just double-checked my tree and no Smiths!

Me either.  I don't have a single one yet, with over 1600 people in my tree too.  Got quite a few Jones though.

I've actually been thinking lately how lucky I am that most of the names in my tree are fairly unusual - or at least not overwhelmingly common.  The first Smith gong back in my direct line is a 4 x g-grandmother Mary Smith; I also have one 5 x g-grandmother Sarah Smith, and two 6 x g-grandmothers called Sarah Smith.  None of these Smiths were related to each other that I know of.

Taking into account all the extended family, I have only 50 Smiths among over 8,000 people on the family tree.

Mine married in, a great grand mothers, sisters, daughters husband (and the thing is I know that you all can figure out that relationship in a second but if I said that to my husband his eyes would glaze over)
