James Horsely was my Great Grandfather  :)

His first wifes name was May Straw.

He married again and his second wifes name was Emma (possibly Ramsden)

He Played Cricket for both Deryshire & Notts.

I have a lot of information of the Horsley Family if you are interested?

Hi, I am researching Notts cricketers and wondered what was the name of the pub in Derby that James Horsley ran?
Plenty of cricketers became innkeepers after retiring from the game.
Incidentally, what is the name of the book on local cricket that mentions him? Is it still available?

Hi All

James ‘Jim’ Horsley married my Great Grandmother Emma Ramsden in 1929. They lived at 4 Dunkirk, Derby at that time.
1940 they took on the licence for The Duke of Devonshire on Goodwin Street.
1950 they took on the licence for The Shakespeare Inn.
1953 they took on the licence for Hare and Hounds on Erasmus Street.
They retired in 1958.
Thanks from
Kate
