Hi I'm looking for information on the  PatrickGibbons and  Margaret Kerrigan . Their 1st child John was born dec 1868, baptised jan 1869 in Kelleencoff Westport. I am having difficult tracing Patrick and Margaret's marriage. The family came to England sometime between Johns birth and the birth of their 2nd child Thomas [ my grandfather] in dec 1870. When I applied for John's birth cert I also asked for a marriage cert but I only had approximate dates so I wasn't successful.Can anyone help please?

Hi Julia,
you would have thought that the marriage would have been within a year of the first child's birth -usually anyway! If you look at this site there's bits of info - you might get a lead- lots of Gibbons around that area but not yours sadly.

Don't know if you have access to a Family History Centre- Latter Day Saints but they will have Irish BMD indexes and you could try searching there for the years around John's birth for a marriage certificate.
