Hi all,
I don't wish to rain on anyone's parade, but it seems to me unlikely that a Wright in Boston would have a brother in Barton. In the mid 1800's N & S lincs would have been worlds apart for the working classes. Google "Multimap" to find a useful tool for seeing where the various towns and villages lie in relation to one another.
I have been researching Wright's in Owmby-by-Spital for DJ and have found at least 3 groups around Lincs. Northern group from Scotter across towards Market Rasen. Eastern group along the Humber estuary, possibly down to Louth. Southern group around the Wash, from Sutton Bridge/Gedney up as far as Horncastle. There is also an urban group centred on Lincoln and surrounding villages.
My 'groups' are completely arbitrary, as I have no knowledge of relationships within or between the groups, and are based merely on the number of listings in the various areas. The southern group appears to be the biggest.
Most confusing, but then, if it was easy, our hobby would not be so interesting. You have to check all your facts and not jump to premature conclusions.
Good luck all,
Eric-C
