Do you know where your Naomi & Frederick were born and who was Frederick's father (name & occupation) from the marriage certificate?

Both Naomi and Frederick was born in March. Fredericks father was a shoemaker and Frederick was cordwainer.

Hi

I have also had a look in 1851 and the only Frederick CARLEY I can see associated with March is the one that Valda has listed above in 1861 ............. living with his father Samuel.  Incidentally this Samuel was a shoemaker in 1851 so I think Valda has probably found the correct family in 1861 ............... just a mystery as to where Naomi was ???  Unless, of course, your Frederick CARLEY has a different father on his marriage certificate?

Casalguidi,

Did you notice Frederic was listed as being only 18 in 1851 ;D

So slightly nearer the age Old Queen thought he should have been.

By the way Old Queen, don't take too much notice of ages on censuses  ;D

It will depend entirely on who gave the info.....usually the man of the house  ::)

This woman appears on the 1871 census.

1871 census RG10 4096 folio 128
17 Railway Road Oldham  Lancashire
Naomi Fraser 30  March, Cambridgeshire, Head  Widow Dress and Mantle maker

1881 census RG11 4072 folio 14
11 & 13 Railway Rd, Oldham, Lancashire
Naomi Fraser 39  Isle Of Ely, Cambridgeshire, Head  Widow Dress and Mantle Maker Tobacconist

Death registration
Oldham March quarter 1884 Volume 8d Page 458
Naomi Fraser 45

I cannot track this woman before 1871. FreeBMD (an incomplete index of the civil registration) has no marriage between a Naomi and a Fraser between 1851-1871.
