WOOD , Westerham Parish Records, christenings
« on: Monday 26 December 05 21:17 GMT (UK) »
Shathaway, I hope you still have the LDS Parish records for Westerham.
My GGG grandmother, Mary Anne Steer married a James Wood in Crowhurst, Surrey.  They apparently moved to Westerham sometime between baptism of Dinah Wood in 1823 in Crowhurst, and baptism of Sarah Anne Wood in 1829 n Westerham.
They also appear to have had 4 more children at least in Westerham, Mary Anne 1829, Eleanor in 1831, Alexander in 1834 and Frederick in 1837.  Frederick is the only one to appear on census records with them in 1851. I have found James Wood as a widower in 1861 census.  Hoping you can look up these records for me, to see if there are any further details on the records, and to confirm the dates for me
Thank you in advance, Margaret

Someone has found this couple for me in 1841 census(thank you, cisselby)
and I have access to Ancestry censuses thereafter.
Has anyone access to Westerham Parish Records?
Hoping someone can track down their probable deaths in Westerham as follows

Either of these (first one more likely, age a little out for my James Wood)
Deaths Dec 1864
Wood    James           Sevenoaks     2a     268

Deaths Jun 1868
Wood    James    64    Sevenoaks    2a   273

Deaths Sep 1859

Margaret:

I'm unable to find your original message to me and hope you find this!  I found information in the Westerham parish register; hope it helps.  Please note, however, there are a great many STEER and WOOD families in the parish; there are at least three WOOD families with the wife Mary Anne!  All below are the children of James and Mary Anne, all baptised Westerham.

Sarah, 18 March 1827 (father listed as Labourer)
Mary Anne, 5 April 1829 (Carrier)
Eleanor, 31 July 1832 (Labourer)
Alexander, 17 August 1834 (Grocer)
Frederick, 19 February 1837 (Grocer)

Hope this helps!
