Another plus to Oystermouth Road is that West Glamorgan Archives service is based in County Hall which is in the same road, very convenient!!

Don't know if you are after doing any research there during your visit but if you are it would make it very accessible.

www.swansea.gov.uk/westglamorganarchives  will give you an idea of what they hold there, and the staff are very helpful and patient!!

Hi Delyth,

Thanks for the advice.

The West Glamorgan Archives are definately on our list of places to visit! :) :)
Cheers, Romilly.

(P.S. I really appreciate all of these helpful tips, - it makes a real difference, because I don't know Swansea at all).

Hi Romilly,

Swansea is not that big.  Are you going to have a car?

The Archives are pretty much south of the town, near the sea, are you going to want to visit Morriston?

Hi Wendi,

Yes, we're coming by car, - my cousin has offered to drive.

She has visited Swansea before, but a long time ago. Morriston is a definate "must visit" on our list, because our Great Grandfather & G/G/G, (both Evan Rees) were both born there.

I'm wondering whether any of the Oystermouth B&B's have any parking facilities at all? Do you think they do?

Thanks for your help,
Romilly.

tell them who you are, and  they may let you stay for free, take some proof..  has for the parking facilities, not many have, some of the b&b`s have carparks behind the hotel, but not many.. may is a quiet time so you should be able to park without a problem...

LOL...somehow I can't imagine a Hotel doing that Sharon, - but its worth a try I suppose!
Is there a Multi-story or overnight Car Park near to Oystermouth Road at all? (it would be useful to know).

Thanks for all your help on here.

Best Wishes, Romilly.

Hi again

Glad your driving, you can easily nip up and down from Swansea to Morriston, it's only a couple of miles.  Infact you drive past Morriston on your way into Swansea from the Motorway.

Do give the Dolphin a ring, on the basis of if you don't ask you'll never get, and what have you got to lose?

I just know you are going to have a wonderful time (I did)
