Von

I presume you were an only child........when did you last see your father?

Where was he living then?

It may sound like a strange question, but we need to establish where he last was,if we are to look for a further marriage .........or sorry to say this, but you also have to prepare yourself for the fact that he may have died.

Easy enough for one of us to look through a few marriages on Ancestry.com
Now they're free of course  ;)

Please be aware that the GRO is a bit behind with sending out certs.we have had a very succesful television series called Who do you think you are, which has prompted loads of people to start tracing family members.

Regards

Carol

PS what's it doing in Seattle weatherwise?

Hi Carole, sorry i didnt post earlier.

Im not sure where my paprent were living, but it was somewhere in Buxton, from what i can gather my Mother left my Father and moved to Shrewsbury, she left me behind in Buxton in a childrens home.

I did hear that the last time anyone saw my Father was when he went to Buxton for his Fathers funarel in 1969 i believe,no one has seen him since.
He is probably dead by now,but it would be interesting to see if he ever remarried and had more children.By the way,my Mother died in the May of 2000.

Von.

There are two people called Timmins living in Buxton. If you look on 192.com ,it will give you the address' of them ,as well as the telephone numbers.

It may be worth a go ,at the very worst ,they won't know anything. But it is not a common name and they may be able to help.

Hope this helps as I have a cousin in the same situation who would dearly love to find out about her father ,but sadly it is not to be .

Wishing you good luck

Hi Von,

I've merged your other thread with this one to keep all the info in one place (Replies #15 - #20)

Have you seen this topic:
Topic: Timmins - Dudley
http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,1672.0.html

I don't know if you have enough to go on yet, to make any connections with them,
but it's worth a look, and maybe an ask  :)

Good luck,
Bob

Hi Carole, the weather here is pretty nice, sunny and warm, although it looks like we may get a shower later.

By the way,im not an only child,i believe my mother had another child with my father, his name is Don,my mother went on to have  more children with my step father.

My Father is probably going by the name donald or don.

I have a very confusing life dont i?..lol

Hello Von

Seems you are correct, your parents did indeed have another baby.

Donald L Timmins mothers maiden name Grindey, was born in Stockport(Cheshire) in Sept 1952 ref number 10a page 729.

There is a person of that name on the 2003 infodisk. However using one of the more recent directories does not find him.

I am going to PM you with the address I've found, and its up to you if you want to take the slight chance that...

A, It's the right person
B, If he's no longer there, someone knows where he went to.

Going to look for your grandad's death info now.Glad we know what his name is........didn't realise you had another thread going alongside(Thanks Berlin Bob  ;D)

All the best

Carol

Hi Carol,i think that info is wrong,my brother Donald was born (*) though.
Unless my Mother was lieing, which she did alot of to hide her past.

I did hear that my Father was always in trouble with the law and i seem to remember someone saying he went to prison, again not sure if this is true.

I dont know what prison,as im sure they would have records.

Thanks.
Von.

Hello Von

It could still be him........that date is when the birth was registered and would have been any time during July/Aug/Sept 1952.
