No bible
« on: Friday 24 March 06 08:58 GMT (UK) »
When I did my first wave of Family History in the late 70's, my father, when visiting my late grandmother would bring home pages of dates of births deaths marriages. Also numerous other facts presumably passed on verbally by my grandmother.

These have almost invariably been absolutely correct.

One or two things have not been verified, such as grandmother's aunt Mary Jane hanging herself.

I vaguely have a memory that these were said to be from a family bible.
My father no longer remembers this. I however still have the pages in his handwriting.

My Aunt who lives in the same house where my grandmother lives, does not know of a bible.
The dates were too exact and too many for my grandmother to remember correctly at her age and general state of mind.

There are still some 'facts' from these papers I have yet to verify
