Christine

I am reliably informed by my other half that Jonas Eastwood was the gardener at Lupsett Hall near Alvesthorpe which I believe is not far from Horbury.

On the 1861 census he should be 29 or their abouts and married to Sara Hurst with possibly 3 children - (details worked backwards from the 1881 and 1871 census returns).

When you have a spare minute

Glad you had a good Giggle whilst looking through Horbury earlier today

Fitty me duck

We have this Edward from later census returns - and we cant fit him in with any of our ancestors.

I must agree it is very debateable whether the name is Eastland or East Wood written as two words.

Maybe it is EastLand and that is why we can not fit him in anywhere.

Thanks chuck

HOW TO REQUEST A LOOKUP

We have seen the "I WILL DO 1891 CENSUS" grow into so many pages now,  so we have had to think of a way to handle census requests.

If you could each please start a "New Topic" with subject line very clearly stating the year of the census you require, the county and the surname of the person(s) you are seeking as follows:

1891 CENSUS REQUEST CHESHIRE   YAPP

or

WORKHOUSES REQUEST SHROPSHIRE  PARR

...and so on....

Then in the body of the message enter the details of your request. A person willing to carry out a lookup for you will then simply reply to your message, initially with "I will do a lookup for you, bear with me" (or something like that) then later followed by what they have found for you.

HOW TO OFFER LOOKUPS
If you have census information or other information that you are willing to carry our lookups for then please state in your subject line LOOKUP OFFER and the details of you lookup resources. If you could then enter details of the lookup material that you have and please include the following line at the very end of your message:

"For a look up request please start a new topic"

We will ask the moderators to "lock" each "LOOKUP OFFER" as soon as possible after it has been posted so that people cannot reply to it directly.

FINALLY
We hope this system will help all of us with lookup requests, and make it a little easier.  ;)
