John Nield  estimated birth abt 1750
He has four children credited to him all baptized at Christleton Cheshire as follows
            Elizabeth Nield bapt 3rd May 1772
              Jane Nield bapt 17th March 1776
            John Nield   Born ? Died 1781
          Ambrose Nield bapt 15th May 1785 Died 30th Aug 1870 Aged 88yrs
It is from Ambrose that my family descend
I have searched at Chester Archives Christleton etc with no succsess
At this moment in time any help at all would be welcome.

    Do have John's (c1750) wifes name ? It may help to sort out who the children may have been named after.

No I do not have his wifes name Peter. The Children that I have are just to a John Nield.
Just To put you more in the Picture I have Searched the Christleton Registers for a John Nield,
Marriage, Birth , or Death with no success unless I missed some thing.
I have a number of possible Marriages, depending on whether Elizabeth is the first born, or there were other birth's in another parish.
The Marriages are as follows they are off different site's. as follows
John Nield  & Jane Denson Thornton Le Moors !760
John Nield  & Grace Bramhall Frodsham 1764
John Nield  & Margaret Nichols  Tarvin   1759         Tarvin Parish Reg
John Nield  & Hannah Hall   Tarvin  21st Jan 1762  Tarvin Parish Reg
John Nield  & Mary Simmons Tarvin 8th Dec 1763   Tarvin Parish Reg
There is also another Marriage on the Tarvin Reg But it has conflicting names
John Nield or Richard Nield to Mary Dod Tarvin 28th Dec 1763.

John Nield  & Mary Amson Davenham 28th July 1771

     There is another marriage to consider that I have turned up, John Nield and Jane Downs a widow married by licence at St Peters Chester 3/Jan/1748.

    Could they be the mother and father of your John (c1850) ?

    You could obtain a copy of the licence from Chester RO, it may give you a few more clues.
