Help needed! EDWARDS, Norton Radnorshire
« on: Saturday 25 March 06 15:51 GMT (UK) »
I have two separate pieces of information given to me by my cousin, and I'm trying to establish if they refer to the same person.

1.  An entry in a family bible for John EDWARDS, died 22nd November 1818, buried 25 November 1818.
2.  A will of John Edwards of Hares Green Farm, Norton written 26th November 1817.  In it he names his wife Ann EDWARDS, son Richard EDWARDS born c1805 (have found him in the census records), and brothers James, Thomas and William EDWARDS.

So I suppose I'm asking if there are any records available for St Andrew's, Norton to see if there is a burial or MI for John Edwards that matches the dates above.  I have no idea if this information is available or not, so apologies if it is a big ask!

Any help much appreciated!

Thanks
Jean

Hello, I am researching my family history, my father has sent me as much info as possible and my great great grandfather was William Edwards from Norton in Radnorshire born 8 8 1852 died 29 1 1953. His father was William Edwards born 1831 married Mary Wheeler at Amestry Hereford in 1852 and died in 1918 in Hereford,he was born in Norton Radnorshire and baptised 29/5/1831( I think the eldest of 5 sons) William Edwards b.1852 d.1953 was I think born at Cook House in norton, now a B&B.
William Edwards b.1831 was the son of James Edwards d.4/7/1877 aged 78 who married Diana who died 4/2/1898 age 96,she died at Norton Cooks House (built 1667)(Foremans Cottage)
It sounds as if we may be related if they are indeed the same Edwards. I have more info of our tree and if we are indeed related would love to know what you have found out
     yours faithfully
    Jem Tudor Edwards

Hi Jean,

There's a John Edwards buried on 22nd February 1819 at St Andrew's Church, Norton, Radnorshire
Age at death 65 (It also says calculated year of birth 1754).

Same church as above there's a burial for Ann Edwards, buried on 8th September, 1832 - age 72 (calculated year of birth is shown as 1760).

Maybe this helps a little.
Regards, Alltcafan  :)
