Can anyone find a marriage for my Great Uncle George Harry Vine, born about 1884. I think he had a son also Harry who lived in Boston.

I have found this marriage also and was baffled. Hannah was my Gt Gt Grandmother, John Henry my Gt Grandfather & George H my Grandmothers brother.
So it looks like George married his cousin Annie. As Hannah & Matthew Southwell Vine only had a son John Henry & a daughter Hannah Susan who married a John William Pratt & they had 4 sons where did Annie come from?

More to add to this mystery, John W Pratt was a Customs & Excise man and died age 30 at Hedon in East Yorks. Hannah Susan came home to Spalding to live with her mother with 2 sons, Arthur Hywell born 1871, & John H born 1873. The 2 other sons Robert W born 1872 & Arthur born 1876?(where did I get this one from as J W died in 1874?) were living with Mary A Pratt, Grandmother. I am totally confused now.

Presumably (unless you know different), the PRATT sons (who were with the PRATT grandmother) were sons of unmarried PRATT daughter(s) who were also living there in 1881.  I doubt that Hannah VINE/PRATT would have had two surviving sons called Arthur anyway.

Hi
I am new to Rootschat and was browsing when I saw this post. I have the Vine name in my ancestry, as Tom Cooper, on my mother's side, married Rose Vine. The only other details are children Lillie, margaret, Violet, and Rose. dates would be late 1800 - early 1900's. can you help? The Vine side of my family has been quite difficult to trace.

Hi Mary Ann,
I have only got back as far as John Vine's marriage to Elizabeth Catling in 1805 and They had 9 children but none of them named Rose. I have then only so far traced two sons and none of the other names you mention have been found. Where was Tom Cooper and Rose married?
Regards
Keith

Hi, Keith,
No idea, but most of my family , especially the Cooper side, are from Lancashire, Suffolk, and Yorkshire. all I have about the Vines are the names, and the fact that one of them married a Deveroux (unsure of spelling).

regards
Mary- Ann

Hi again Mary Ann,
I found a John Thomas Cooper born abt 1851 married to a Rose A Cooper born abt 1859 in 1881 census with no others living at the same address in Attercliffe cum Darnall, Yorkshire. I have found no Thomas married to a Rose in Lancashire or Suffolk so far.

Keith
