1841 - Durham

Garthwaite John Durant (but he didn't like his first name, so could be just John). Can't say I blame him.

Born 1828ish, so 13 years of age in 1841.  On later census (71 and 81) has stated birthplace as Gateshead and Sunderland.

Probable parents Robert and Ann Durant.  Possible sibling, Charles Davidson Durant (two years older).

He came to London, so it's proving difficult to pin down his early years.  Any help much appreciated.
