Charles Hooker Coach builder - Hampshire/London
« on: Monday 27 March 06 11:12 BST (UK) »
Hi All,  :)

I'm looking for any info on the Charles Hooker, Coach builder/Coach Body Maker in 1851 they were in Basingstoke London st and employed 3 men. (that was the census address and possibly the business address)

1861 Charles had moved to Parker Street Westminster with his family. His eldest son, also Charles Hooker, had the same occupation.

1871 Charles was at St georges Hanover Square area.

I've looked in the free directories but unable to find any thing as yet. I also have been looking for any sites with details of coach building and the coach industry of that time.

Charles senior's father William Hooker was a wheelwright in Odiham b1772 and died in 1834 Odiham. I guess one occupation led to another.

Any help gratefully received.

Thanks Pipkim  :)
