ALBERTA ?
« on: Monday 27 March 06 12:51 BST (UK) »
Hi
My son is trying to research some of his father`s side of the family.

He has some information about them but would like to explore a bit further, they emigrated to Alberta.
Is there anyone there who could help with some details?

I have been very lucky (with the help of Karen) to trace a lot of info about my relative in Ontario, so we are hoping
my son will also be as lucky?
Think he is a bit jealous of how much info I have been receiving!

Depending on dates etc, you might want to look at http://www.ourfutureourpast.ca/ - local history books and Alberta newspapers online.
Census information is Crown Copyright, from www.nationalarchives.gov.uk

Of course we will try to help him with his questions if we can...but he will need to provide us with the usual infomation...

There are other sites listed on the research in Canada child board, too...J.J.

Hi JJ,
Following on from the query about Alberta (my son`s queries)

He is trying to find out some details about ROSAMUND HISON Nee Mott
and her sister
EMILY USHER Nee Mott

It is believed that they emigrated to Canada in about 1910, so if they are shown on the 1911 census that would confirm they were already in Canada by then.
So could you possibly  answer that question for him?

Also trying to find out if the information about their year of death is correct, believed to have been Rosamund in 1939
and
Emily abt 1927

Or is there a site we can access that would supply that information?

Anyh help you could supply would be much appreciated, thank you.

Here is some basic information from Marrs Barr regarding the family

Husband Philip Usher-d. England
Emily b.July 1851 Bocking, Essex
 (d. 1927?  in Castor Alberta)

Rosamond b. Feb 1863 Bocking Essex
(d  1939?  Castor Alberta)
Husband George Huson b.1865 in Hertford England
(d. 1941?  Castor Alberta )
Carpenter-1881 census-

Perhaps emigrated around 1910?

It is known that one of the children Cyril Claude Usher, was a Sgt in 1936 in the Royal North West Mounted Police RCMP, if that is of any help?
He was born in Essex (Dec 1890)  before the parents emigrated
