Me greedy pah!

My mother was told that her "Scottish" grandmother was descended from the Stuart family, the grandmother had Stuart as a middle name, a case of I'd believe it when I see it. This grandmother though was prone to exaggerate though as she was actually born in Durham not Scotland although her parents were Scots ;)

Really? Excellent. I've got a cordwainer (well, so far just a cordwainers widow) but hubby will turn up eventually, I'm sure) as well.

Woo-hoo, I knew I came from posh!

And an umbrella maker!

And hundreds and hundreds of Ag Labs.

But really, don't most people start out with this light-hearted fantasy of being decended from nobility? I have found a site however that proves beyond reasonable doubt that you, me and everyone in Europe is probably descended from Charlemaine

Can't help there I'm afraid, unless you have any Castor names in your lineage. Apparently the legend of King Arthur relates to a Roman living in Britain called Lucius Artorius Castor.

Anyway, heres the link if anyone wants a Holy Roman Emperor in their family

But surely using a statistical analysis like that, the probability is the same for any contempary of Charlemagne?
