hi heathere, it looks like you have a bit of a dilemma on your hands with this one doesn't it, you will have to decide where your john taylor was born, fenwick or killmaurs, have you any documented proof of his place of birth, apart from what you have been given here.

I dont know if you are aware that the John Taylor, who married Barbara Gibson, was a Surgeon, are you sure that you have the correct family.

Hello Jonn I discovered about John Taylor being a surgeon and that's what made me think it was wrong.

Hi Moira, the only thing I have is the marriage certificate of his son Thomas Taylor which gives his name and his wife as Barbara Taylor nee Taylo. Couldn't get anything on IGI for Prestwick so just put in John Taylor and Barbara and that's what I came up with so I could be completely off track here couldn't I? Can't find d.o.b. for Thomas anywhere. 1891 census says he was 48.
