Tormor - I have sent you a pm with my email address. Please email me so we can converse more easily.  Liz

Hi Lizzie

Unfortunately we don't appear to be allowed to exchange email addresses. You will see that your reply has been modified.

How do we move forward from here? This is all very well but it's like typing through a letterbox!

Sandy has come up trumps with the transcriptions and photographs, for which I am most grateful as I don't live in the area and it would be worth going to see this collection.

Best wishes

Tormor

Hello when you say Wm Snr, who do you mean please?

William Sen is the father of William Griffiths Hollis.

We could help more with this request, but as you seem to wish
to do it through e-mails maybe there is no more help required  :)

This Hollis information is all extremely interesting. William Griffiths Hollis' daughter Margaret is my wife's great grandmother. Margaret Hollis married George James Crane in 1892.

Hi Sandy

Thank you very much for both the transcriptions and the pictures. These are a tremendous help.

We don't come from or live in the area but your work has shown that it is worth going to see this collection before they get a work-out type vicar who thinks he'll pick up these stones just for practice. I wonder who owns them?!? An interesting piece of gen that the Church is 12th Century. Thank you for that. Is the Church of the Holy Sepulcher a different one, or the same?

Many thanks and best wishes

Tormor

Hi Tormor

I think your gravestones are safe.  :)

There used to be a whole pile of stones piled up in the Churchyard
which have now been removed.

The Church of the Holy Sepulchre is the same as St Seph's.

There are only 4 round churches left in England, it was built after the Crusades.
It is also known as the Northamptonshire Regiment Church.

The graves are easy to find as if you go along Sheep St to the Gate, there
are on the left hand side. The Church is open in the Summer months.

There is another one that seems could be related as it names Griffiths as
a surname and Boulton, let us know who the Eilizabeth was who married
William the J.P. if you know.

Hi again Tormor.

It is difficult to read all the questions at once.  :)

I think you would enjoy your visit, which would benefit from a look at
original Parish Records of your ancestors at the Local Studies Area of the
Library or Record Office, if they Baptised at St.Seph's.

They may also hold other information about William Senr.

My avator is the picture on the left of my reply, it shows me as a young girl. :)

Hi again All.

Do you have any more info on him and his seven children? Do you know if he had any siblings?

I think you will find the other siblings and information about the Hollis's
on Shaun's web link as he has already researched the family.

Have just updated my website for William Griffiths Hollis' second marriage but I would be interested to receive more information about his Camberwell family.

Hello, it's not a question of not wanting to know more but my husband wants to speak with Tormor as he is a long distance relative and he cannot use a computer so wants to exchange phone numbers which can only be  done by pm's. I hope you understand.
