Lawrence family - Birmingham
« on: Wednesday 29 March 06 18:17 BST (UK) »
Hi

Having trouble finding yet another family on the census!

Can find this family on 1871 and 1881, but nowhere else. Whole family born Birmingham.

1871 Back of 11 Barr Street (RG10/3119 F31 P3)

John Lawrence     36  Dipper
Mary Ann Lawrence  37
Alice           14
Phillip H        9
Frederick J   4
Arabella       3
Florence       1

1881  10 Barr Street,
Same plus
Arthur 9
Merriel 3

I think that Arthur was in the army (Royal Warks Reg) in 1991 stationed at London Bridge, but there are two Arthur's born same year in the area, so not sure if it is the right one.

Strange that with so many family members that I can't find them on the other census years.  Or am I going word blind from looking at so many pages :-\

This one maybe a wild goose chase anyway, but do need to find them even if only to eliminate them.

Anyone with better eyes than me??
Regards
Tracy

Thanks for that Jim.  Did you spot them in 1891?  I just can't find them, maybe it's another transcription error on Ancestry - they were easy to find on 81 and 71 then nothing.

Hi Jim

Thanks - I am sure you can guess where I am going with this :)

Looking into this lot as they had an Arthur, a Muriel (Meriel) and a Florence - so based on the use of same names every generation, I thought it was worthwhile checking them - no links yet, but you never know :)

Hi, Just registered with this so hopefully you will see this, if you search the ancestry site for 'Full Family Tree' - member directory steve4don25 (mine) you will find the info you need on this family. Mary Ann greaves married/ name change to lawrence, lived with Williams brother & her children. You will find the family links all the way to today & included facts/sources/some photos. This should help. Any questions let me know. Steve.
