Flippin' 'eck, you people are wonderful!

That's him right enough -- he was b. 14-Mar-1893. The other entries look like the goods too.

So he was in Canada by 1915 -- that certainly narrows down the years I need to search for an arrival.  Plus which I've now got a height for him, which will help immensely in searching the passenger lists.  I couldn't be more grateful -- many, many thanks.

Chicago Tribune (IL)
George Muir, beloved husband of Phyllis A.; dear son of Maggie and the late James; brother of Alexander B.; nephew of Betty Baird. At Williams Funeral Home, 12 Lake street, Oak Park. Servcies Tuesday, 1:30 p.m. Interment Acacia Park. Masonic services under auspices of Austin lodge No. 850, A. F. & A. M., Monday evening, 8 p.m. 848-8788.

So I guess Kimberley was a Taylor, since she's not mentioned here?

1979-10-01
Barbara Taylor, nee Falduto, fond wife of Bruce; dear mother of Kimberly, Donna and Christopher; sister of Florence Pasturski, Carmella De-Rosa, Eleanor Cesario and Bernadina Lombardo. Lying in state Tuesday, 10 a.m., til time of service 11 a.m., at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 2035 N. Windsor, Arlington Heights. Visitation Monday, 4 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., at Friedrichs Funeral Home, 320 W. Central Rd. at Northwest Hwy., Mount Prospect. Interment Memory Garden. 255-7800.

Possible?  SSDI shows a Barbara Taylor b. 14 Apr 1937 d. Sep 1979 (fits with obituary 1st Oct), which would make her the right age for a wife of Bruce.

Just thought I'd post here to say that Agnes' possible Bruce looks spot on as the birth date she quotes matches the one I already had as probable.

Sadly, my aunt rang the number given today to discover that Bruce died a few years ago -- however, we are hopeful of further contact from one of his children, so this may still prove to have been an ongoing success.

Even if we get no further contact, it's great just to have traced the line this far -- immense thanks to all of you who helped.

One last thought - that address on "Eric" street should probably have been "Erie" street - on the near north side of the city (Just north of the Chicago River from the Loop) runs east-west and is very close to, and parallel with, Hirsch.
