Hi Jane -

I have found a birth record in the St Helier, Jersey, registrar's index:

Mary Ann Noble  period 1/8/1842-30/9/1843  page 33
and there is another one, who may be a sibling -
Charles Noble  period 31/3/1845-20/4/1849  page 89.

You can order the certificate(s) from -
The Superintendent Registrar
10 Royal Square
St Helier
Jersey  JE2 4WA
tel. +44 (0)  1534 502335

Certificates cost £10 each plus P&P UK 50p, Europe £1.00 and elsewhere £2.00

I have also found some possible marriages in St Helier for her parents - but you may need to get her birth certificate first to know which is the right one:

Philippe Noble (b. St Helier) m. Elizabeth Ellis (b. St Helier) 6.11.1828
George Noble (b. St Helier) m. Elizabeth Grandin (b. St Helier) 18.1.1829
Francois Noble (b. St Helier) m. Elizabeth Le Maistre (b. Grouville) 1.12.1832

Mary's birth certificate will also give the mother's surname, as well as the father - so you can tell which Elizabeth it is!!

Please let me know when you have the birth cert. and know which marriage - then I can look up their births etc too.

You say " I have her on the English 1851 in Middlesborough" - what age was she then, did she have siblings and what are her parents names there?

Mike
thanks so much for that info i will order today  ;D
this family are a real mystery to me, i originally was looking for a g grandmother Priscilla gander, searched for ages, found her with parents James and Mary smith nee noble??? so was totally confused, but then father was in prison so wondered if thats why Priscilla changed name, as all we knew about Priscilla was she was left an orphan, and sent to live family called noble, Mary was with mother only in middlesbrough on the 51 aged about 5, middlesbrough is where Priscilla ended up,

but a really big thank you

Jane :D
