Bedwellty censuses 1861 & 1871
« on: Sunday 02 April 06 09:54 BST (UK) »
Hi guys

I believe I have located my great-grandfather on the above censuses, a Joseph Evans, detailed as aged 15 on the earlier and 24 on the later, living at Garn Upper near Tredegar, along with parents Thomas and Margaret and siblings Richard, Margaret and Jemima. All of the family are detailed as being born in Monmouthshire, Bedwellty, apart from Thomas on the 1861 census, where his given birthplace differs. It is certainly still Monmouthshire, but the other word looks like Llanbaddock. It has been suggested to me that this could be Llanbradach, near Caerphilly, but I'm not totally convinced. Anybody have any other ideas?

Hello Mike
The place is definitely Llanbaddock per the image.
Llanbaddock was a parish a mile or so from Usk.
Thomas states his place of birth as Usk in 1851.
