I Found Formerly Unknown Information.
« on: Sunday 02 April 06 15:15 BST (UK) »
A few days ago I typed my great grandfather's name into Google and it referred me to baptismal records in a church in Argentina.  I knew from my Granny that she and her family had lived in Buenos Aires until Granny was 13.  She often spoke of a sister, Muriel, who had died as a very young child, but didn't have any other details about her.  Granny's older brother didn't have details either.  Imagine my delight when I discovered a record of Muriel's Baptism AND her date of birth and her full name....Muriel Alice Mary. So now more than 40 years after Granny's death I have found the missing information on her sibling.

That's great, NiftyFifty - you must be so happy!

I think googling only works if you are looking for reasonably uncommon names.  When I've tried it with some of mine, it brings up literally thousands!  Not a lot of help.

Yes I am really delighted and perhaps lucky too in that the surname is unusual.

Mary.
