hello all ., could any one in form me ,was kingswiford ever in warwickshire as my ancesters have put it in the 1881 census or the enumerator has MARRIA NEWMAN born around 1867 Kingswinford Warks  ,Signalman

Never known Kingswinford to be in Warwickshire   ???  Could be the enumerator didn't know the area  :-\

My lot come from Kingswinford Staffordshire!

Not that I know a lot about this area but I have been sufing the net and found a reference to Kingswinford in 1637 where it says Warwick!

Wonder if it belonged to the Lords/Earls of Warwick in those days?  Kingswinford is south west of Dudley.

If it is near Dudley that is well south of Staffs?? But stranger things have happened over the years with boundary changes

Hi Cal,

This is one of those funny ones  :-\  I have ancestors from Kingswinford and some were christened/married at Kingswinford Staffordshire and some at  Dudley Worcestershire!  So if anything I would have said it would be Worcestershire rather than Warwickshire  ::)  :-\

HI CHUI,ok tell me more ,im paticularly interested in the Gardners although i cant find any reference to a Gardner marrying a Newman even though a Marria was born there in about 1867 . Signalman
