Issac Searles of Bosley and William Searles of Bulmer
« on: Wednesday 05 April 06 16:08 BST (UK) »
Hi. I'm looking into the Searles family and would welcome any information about Issac Searles born app 1808 in Boseley. I believe he married a Mary ....who came from Ballindon, Essex. He was an Agricultural Labourer. They had 7 children of whom one was William born in Bulmer.
Any information about Issacs parents etc would be most welcome.

It's been quite a while since you posted your message but I've just noticed the SEARLES name (in which I have a passing interest) and wondered whether you have spelt the name Boseley correctly because I don't recall it as an Essex name and I can't find it (or any variant) in Essex in my AA maps.
There is a Bosley in Cheshire.
I wonder if it could be 'Borley' which is in Essex and is included in IGI but just missing the dob you specify.
Maybe someone else knows for sure.

Thanks Clincher. I got it from the 1851 census and went with the transcription entry.
Taking another look I agree it should be "Borley". Just shows that this site can pay dividends!!
Do you have any further info about this family?

No sorry that's as far as my info goes. At the date relevant to your SEARLE Ballingdon, Borley and Bulmer were all in the Sudbury Registration District in Essex. According to Essex RO website that RO still has registers for that period for Borley.
