Walkerden Family - Malpas.

Sampson WALKERDEN  - born ? in MALPAS (derbyshire??!!)
Married Hannah COOPER 28 Aug. 1821.
They went to Ontario, Canada prior to 1861.
If anyone has acess to any records that might give me more information on this person or his family, would be very grateful. Or, if anyone else is researching the same family.

There are very few other Walkerdens in the whole country in fact the only other two are

Thomas, 25 Servant in the household of Francis (farmer) and Elizabeth Harvey, living Lee Lane, Colton, Staffordshire.  He was born Staffordshire Blithfield

Living 11 Ladbroke Terrace, St Mary Abbott, Kensington, Middlesex
Letitia C Walkerden Unmarried Servant 50 years old, Housekeeper born Derby All Saints and working for Richard H Kennedy (Retired Physician General) and his wife Isabel and children.

I have passed it on to her and am sure it will be of help.  You are correct in that had realised that Malpas was NOT in Derby, hence my listing on Cheshire site.

This guy is living alone in 1851 - another one to keep on file!

Sampson Walkerdine  Head  Wid  85  Retired plater  Newton, Staffordshire

(Name could also be read as Walkendine, but first name is an interesting coincidence.)

In 1851, there are several families in Staffordshire with spelling Walkeden, including 4 Sampsons, but none married to a Hannah.
