I would love to hear from anyone with connections to, or information about, the LOFT family.

I have a gg grandfather called Loft.  Lived in Manchester in the 1800s  but born Staffordshire.  Any use or interest?

Is this Loft any interest to you?

William Loft, a shoemaker (b circa 1836 in Newcastle under Lyne, Staffordshire) married Charlotte Snowden (b circa 1849/50) in Manchester Cathedral on 6th August 1871.

Thanks for your reply, As far as I know all my 'Loft' family lived in Yorkshire but as I do my research I may find connections to Lofts from other areas. If I do I will let you know.

My research has moved on since my last post.  I now find that the Loft born in Staffordshire was of a family of Lofts from Beverley in Yorkshire!  Another Roots Chatter has provided some census data.  Let me know if you'd like to see it.  Regards, Phil.
