  Hello. I am a new List member and I am researching my " Sharp" family who came from South Kyme Lincolnshire. My G.G.Grandfather's name was John Sharp- married Mary Peck. (yet to be validated). they had  7 children.

William.  Baptised   18 Feb 1794  Sth Kyme.
Edward                   06 March, 1795  Sth Kyme ( My Direct Line)
Mary                       11 Oct , 1798
John                       01 Jan 1806  ( Born 1801) next 3 were Bapt all together)
Joseph                   01 Jan  1806 ( Born 1804)
Thomas                  01 Jan  1806 ( Born 1805)
Martha                   29 June, 1808.   all @ South Kyme. Lincs.

I cannot confirm that John & Mary Sharp ( nee Peck) were the parents taken from IGI records. I think it;s also possible that John Sharp's parents were John and Alice Sharp from Aswarby...

Edward (2nd son) married Susannah Plowright ( daughter of David Plowright) in Pinchbeck, 02 May, 1826 and Martha Sharp ( Edward's Sister ) was a witness..

I can validate all the information from the Marriage of my G.Grandfather Edward and Susannah Sharp up to the present day. here in Australia.. I was lucky as I almost made a fatal mistake of researching the wrong " Sharp Family" as a submitter had a lot of my information mixed up with another " Sharp Family" on a website....They were convinced it was correct until I provided Primary records which proved they had indeed made huge errors... To this day the " Errors" are still on the website which makes it extremely hard for other researching in the future....

Can anyone please tell me anything.. or is there someone on the list  who has in formation or could guide me where to find my " Sharp Family" in South Kyme around that era....

I am an elderly " newbie" in family research a little slow but very thorough... I would appreciate any information or guidance from the List. and may I also take the time to " Thank" the list members for their patience with me.

I go through South Kyme about once a month if there is anything I can do, like look around the graveyards let me know, I also go to Blankney as I have relies at Metheringham, and have to go through Blankney, if you want any photo's of the villiages taken can do that aswell,

Where did you get your information for the marriage of John SHARPE to Mary PECK?  I've been looking at the IGI and at some Lincolnshire marriage indexes I have and can't find them in either.  Maybe I'm thick!! or just looking in the wrong Deanery.  Where did the marriage take place?

Sorry so many questions but I may be able to help next time I go into Lincoln if it is just a question of confirming the marriage entry in the register.

Ooops did it again sorry. To Miss Primm.

I found a submitter on IGI who was allegedly researching the same " Sharp" family as myself... on closer inspection and in formation I had gained. they had information in their website about my " Sharp Family" when in fact they had all the wrong information. I asked for it to be removed and to this day it is still there.. To answer your question. on the IGI. there was an Edward Sharp  Christened 06 March 1795 South Kyme Lincs. and lists parents John Sharp and Mary... This Edward is in indeed my G.Grandfather.but does not belong to the submitter of this site.

On the Marriage Certificate of my G. Grandfather Edward Sharp who married Susannah Plowright, ( daughter of David Plowright) on 02 May 1826 @ Pinchbeck. Lincs. one of the Witnesses to the Marriage was Martha Sharp.. sister of my Edward... that is the only real validation I have..

If you could help me find my Edward's parents I would appreciate it vey much.

Looking at notes I have. in The Lovenden Deanery ( next door to Lafford Deanery) a Marriage John Sharp and Mary Peck. 1793.

Baptism's all in Lafford Deanery.

William Sharp. 28 Feb 1794 South Kyme.
Edward Sharp - 06 March, 1795 ( My. G.Grandfather)
Mary Sharp- 11 Oct 1798
John. 14 Apr,1799 ( died??
John Sharp 01 January, 1806
Joseph Sharp ( 01 Jan 1806
Thomas Sharp 01 Jan, 1806. All 3 children Baptised together)
Martha Sharp. 29 June 1808. South Kyme.This is the Witness at my G. Grandfathers wedding to Susannah Plowright.

This information was from a lady who has the Microfilms of the Deaneries of Lincolnshire which she emailed to me. I have no other information to go by.
