Please could SKS look up the Hillas family in Tong, Nr Bradford.  There should be Samuel and Ann Hillas and maybe any of their children (they had at least 8).  Ann was bc1782 in Tong.  I do not know when Samuel was born, as he had died by the 1851 census.  There is one Samuel on the LDS site bapt Feb 1774.  There are 2 records of deaths in the 1840s for Samuel Hillas in Bradford on freebmd.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The death of a Samuel Hillas was also registered in Wortley, Leeds, in 1847. This district included Farnley, which is "next door" to Tong.

I can't see a marriage on FamilySearch, but presumably you know  Ann's maiden name?

Many thanks for that.  It will be wool comber, a fairly common job around those parts.  I am pretty sure that it would be napper, I am also pretty sure that it is something to do with the wool mills.  Unfortunately I do not have Ann's maiden name.  Looking at the ages it does look like the Samuel Hillas on the LDS site is the same as this one.

Thanks to both of you for your help
