Do you mean John age 63 nad his neighbour Thomas age 50?
Wild guess: They could be brothers ... Have you tried searching www.familysearch.for them, in case their births are on the IGI?

As per 1871 census, at least Martha, George and Hannah are apparently Mary's children. Caroline seems to die age 15 in 1869 so I can't find her on later census. Perhaps you'd need to order her birth cert to find out whose child she was.

I'll have a look for the Hurt's on later census returns.

Hi team,

A very old thread I know, but I've just started looking at my POXON's after a number of years.

The OP asks about John POXON on the 1851, aged 63, born Lockington, Leics.  John married Hannah BOOTH in 1808 at Aston on Trent, Derbyshire and have at least 10 children there.  On both the 1851 and 1861 he says he is born at Lockington between 1786 and 1788.

If anyone could find his baptism that would be amazing.  There are others around the same time in Weston on Trent that others have claimed but there are other siblings with the same name and it doesn't sit right.
