Great,
I would guess that was scanned at 100dpi, if so now try again at 300dpi. repost and see the difference.

My Epson was just a printer. I have never scanned a picture before. I didn't even know how they worked.

Hi Carol,

When you saved your scanned photo you compressed it as well with your picture software.
You should be able to save the photo as a Tiff file which will not compress it - then post to here as a jpg and it should arrive as much larger file.

You will have a small window/slider on your scanner software to scan the original at 600 instead of 300 - just look for different numbers and have a play - don't worry we have ALL been there - that's why we know some of the answers!! ;D ;D

Cheers

Keith

Hi Carol,
              " I've never had a scanner before I didn't know
how they work"
A scanner is basically a digital camera that photographs your
photograph or picture and converts what it sees into digital
information that your computer can understand.
The higher the resolution that you scan a subject, the more
information is transmitted to a computer and the more information
that we have available to work with.
     You are doing well girl,
Tomkin
